New weapons, new enemies, and the destruction of New York City are all on showcase in this video. There’s nothing more I can say to introduce the video, other than enjoy what you see. Keep in mind, gameplay will be interrupted every once in a while with cutscenes from the game, but it’s a small price to pay:

The Nanosuit 2 that Nomad obtains control of looks like it will see a lot of use, specifically cloaking. Who doesn’t like getting the drop on their opponents? The “tank” mode of the suit, which gives the user super strength, will also be fun to use in case you want to throw anybody out of a building or off of a roof. If mobility is the name of your game, then the suit is more than capable of handling your demands as well.
Most importantly, the graphics look very impressive. If Crytek manages to do a good job of running the game on consoles, then I will be incredibly sure to pick this title up once it releases. The draw distance is huge and the game doesn’t look to have any slow down in the portions of gameplay shown, so it’s a very good bet that the game will be running at an optimal frame rate when it comes out.
While I didn’t have my doubts regarding the game’s graphics, the gameplay was something about which I was very concerned. I didn’t want it to be a corridor shooter with some open-world options. However, Crysis 2 appears to enable the player to proceed with their combat encounters in any way the player chooses, whether it be a full on run and gun assault or a planned stealth strike from within enemy ranks.
Though this is only a taste of the gameplay offered and possibly shown at E3, it can be expected that Crytek will deliver a full-on walkthrough with commentary once the event gets off the ground. You can bet I’ll be looking forward to it and the game when it releases.
Crysis 2 will combat the alien forces and some other dudes in suits in December 2010 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
