Cubs manager Joe Maddon was especially excited because he was promised a cameo role on the show if it ever came back. Actor Jeff Garlin is a huge Cubs fan and said he’d stay true to his promise during an appearance on ESPN 1000.

“I promised him,” Garlin said. “I’m being very public about it. I’ll do my best to get him on. And when I say ‘do my best,’ I think it will happen. And it’s during the offseason, so we’ll do it.”
As for what Maddon will be doing, Garlin said it’d be “a one-line part at a restaurant or something.”
That’s all Maddon really needs.
“We’re all happy that it’s coming back,” Maddon said Tuesday. “Still the best.”
